Mantra Music and Meditation with Guru Shabad Singh Friday, April 12
Guru Shabad will guide and transform you through meditation with beautiful classic Kundalini mantras. His band of musicians will introduce you to new music as you choreograph in your mind and meditate on the words of the Divine. He will guide you to a greater sense of prosperity through music and guided meditation and will entertain you with humorous and enlightening stories of his time with Yogi Bhajan.
“No one is more qualified to perform and sing the mantras and words of the Sikh teachers as Guru Shabad. His skills as a musician and his subtle understanding of mantra are highly unique in our worldwide network of Kundalini Yoga teachers” ~Dharam Singh Khalsa
Guru Shabad Singh has been playing the guitar and singing since he was seven years old. He wrote and performed spiritual music for Yogi Bhajan for over 35 years, and is known as the originator of “Kundalini Music”. He lives in La Jolla, California and Espanola, New Mexico with his wife Sarab Shakti Kaur and son Hargobind Hari Singh. Vaisakhi Gurdwara Celebration on Sunday, April 14
17514 SW Scholls Ferry Rd.
Beaverton OR 97007
All are invited to celebrate Vaisakhi! This unique occasion marks the establishment of the Khalsa Panth and the idea of creating a universal brotherhood and a casteless society. It is founded on the principle of wishing good to all (sarbhatt da bhalla) and equality of all human beings (manas ki jaat sabhe eke pahchanbo).
Kundalini Yoga Portland has been asked to do the "Song of the Khalsa" towards the end of the program (around 12:45pm). There will a delicious vegetarian lunch afterwards and all who come *must* eat or else they won't be allowed to leave :)
An akand path will also take place during this weekend at the Gurudwara (in gurmukhi only this time), so those who are interested can read from the Guru if they wish.
