History
Over the last two years, credible allegations of abuse have surfaced from hundreds of students against our teacher, Yogi Bhajan. We want to acknowledge these allegations, as well as the many allegations that surfaced for decades prior and were dismissed by the Sikh and 3HO community, preventing healing and justice. 3HO has taken steps as an organization to heal by taking the following steps:
hiring a third party to investigate the allegations (read the report here)
working with a Restorative Justice organization for community healing
providing funds for survivors’ counseling.
We have been shaken by these revelations and the trauma inflicted; at the same time, we continue to feel the healing power of Kundalini Yoga and meditation in our lives. We strive to support all survivors of abuse of any type, and are engaging in healing work on the personal, community, and global level through our individual and group practices. We invite all to share concerns and feelings as we work together to transcend the legacy and teachings of Yogi Bhajan, and his organizations.

Together, our vision is to share the wisdom of Yogi Bhajan, to bring peace to the inner and outer lives of all people, beyond boundaries of race, religion, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender.
Kundalini Yoga Portland owes its roots to several great leaders who established a community here a generation ago: Hari Dass Singh Khalsa and his late wife Holy Kaur Khalsa. They began teaching yoga in 1976. Hari Dass founded & runs a successful chiropractic healing center in Southeast Portland. He continues to lead Teacher Trainings, and participate in Group Sadhana, and support the community in incredible ways.
