Sat Nam everyone,

We are taking a break from leading sadhana on Sundays since so many of us are traveling (maybe we'll see you at Summer Solstice or Women's Camp!), and, well let's face it, attendance has been low to nil.

Hoping that with the teacher training starting in the fall, we'll be back with a vengeance!

When you attend a Kundalini Yoga as Taught By Yogi Bhajan class, there is a certain structure to it. We want everyone to be aware, so informed choices can be made when choosing a class...

Here are some reminders of what a Kundalini yoga class needs to contain in it’s structure if a teacher is listing a class as a Kundalini Yoga class. This is the structure given by Yogi Bhajan. If a teacher wants to call what they’re teaching "Kundalini Yoga" this structure needs to be followed.  

1) Tuning in with the Adi Mantra Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo.
       “The Adi Mantra is a meditative link between you as a finite personality and you as a flow of the Infinite consciousness that guides the Kundalini energy.  We always start a class or personal practice by CHANTING this mantra aloud. We chant instead of singing, as the technology of chanting the Adi Mantra zeros the ego, allowing all ten bodies to merge in the Naad.”  ~ The Aquarian Teacher Manual

2)  Pranayam and/or warm up if needed.

3)  Kriya  (can only be altered by shortening the times if needed).
   Pause between asanas unless otherwise stated in the kriya

4)  Relaxation

5)  Meditation (the order of relaxation & meditation may be reversed).

6)  End with the Sunshine Song and 1-3 long Sat Nams.
