Every Fall we have the blessing of celebrating Guru Ram Das Ji's birthday. Known as the Lord of Miracles, Guru Ram Das embodied humility, service, and deep devotion. Guru Ram Das held a special place in Yogi Bhajan's heart. We can look to Guru Ram Das for guidance, healing, and protection. Many ashrams were named in his honor. Yogi Bhajan gave us a special sadhana to do in celebration of Guru Ram Das' birthday.
September 28 - October 8: For 11 days prior to his birthday we chant the shabad Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru for 31 minutes. This is the Shabad of Miracles! Check the calendar for locations.
October 9th: This is the day we celebrate Guru Ram Das Ji's birth, when we have a special sadhana of chanting Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru for 2 ½ hours in the Amrit Vela.
Yogi Bhajan has described this occasion as a powerful time for the fulfillment of prayers and a time of great blessing. Write your prayers down as the 11 days progress. Then, after the birthday sadhana, we will have a ceremony and burn the prayers, sending them out to the Infinite..allowing the divine healing energy of Guru Ram Das to take care of you.

10,000 Lighthouses Meditation

On Monday, October 6th, a momentous event will take place. Over ten thousand people from around the world will sit down to meditate in unison at exactly the same time, ten years from the historic moment at which Yogi Bhajan left his body. In the harmonic power of our meditative group consciousness we have the potential to raise the entire planetary vibration, amplifying the frequency of kindness and compassion that Yogi Bhajan so often spoke of. Let's create a global network of 10,000 spiritual lighthouses!
You can participate from your home or join us at Carla's home (see calendar for location) in conjunction with the meditation for Guru Ram Das' birthday. The meditation is simple: 31 minutes of chanting Guru Guru Wahe Guru Guru Ram Das Guru. We will start at 7:50 PM Pacific—sixteen minutes before the time of his passing. Ending the chant will be three deep inhalations, suspending the breath each time while vibrating kindness and compassion in your being, throughout the spirit of your community, and throughout the spirit of all humanity.
