Ajeet Kaur, Teacher
I fell in love with Kundalini Yoga in 1978. I was blessed to meet and study with Yogi Bhajan, the spiritual teacher that brought Kundalini Yoga to the West. I currently teach yoga, breathwalk, and am on the Aquarian Academy teaching team, here in Portland, which offers a 200 hour teacher certification program to certify students in Level 1 Kundalini Yoga. I am also a level 2 Sat Nam Rasayan practitioner as well as a level 2 Kundalini Yoga practitioner. I live in the Mt. Tabor area, where I enjoy my children, pets, and gardens. I resonate with the Pacific Northwest and its abundance of nature. It adds to the vibrant energy of the yoga community of Portland, Oregon.
Deshpal Kaur (Laurel Clohessy), Teacher
I relocated to Portland in 2016 from my mountain home of Flagstaff, AZ. I grew up with Kundalini Yoga sprinkled throughout my early childhood. I returned to the arms of this practice following the birth of my oldest son. In 2005 I studied with Gurmukh to become a certified Khalsa Way Prenatal teacher. In 2007, I completed the Radiant Child teacher training with Shakta Kaur, and in 2014 I completed the Level 1 KYTT with Sevak Singh Khalsa. I often incorporate poetry and dance movement into my all-levels classes. It is my joy to share these teachings with others... I see the powerful practice of Kundalini Yoga as a compass that can always point us forward, as well as return us to the happiest, truest Self.
Gurucharan Singh (Daniel Tabachnick), Teacher & Board Member
I began practicing Kundalini Yoga in 1982 and knew from the first time I chanted Ong Namo Gurudev Namo that I had found a clear connection with my Soul and the Divine Source of All and Everything. Over the next decade I regularly attended lectures, yoga classes, White Tantric Yoga courses and men's courses taught by Yogi Bhajan in person. I lived, worked and taught Yoga at 3HO Superhealth from 1984-1991, helping many clients heal there addictive habits through Kundalini Yoga and the Science of Humanology. I took the Level 1 Kundalini Yoga training in Portland in 2004. Currently I work at Columbia Community Mental Health where I utilize Kundalini Yoga technology with my clients. My wife is Hardev Kaur, who I met during Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training. I lead Sadhana on the second Sunday. I have been doing a personal Sadhana of a 31 minute meditation every day for 1000 days. I have been doing this every day for the past sixteen years and intend to continue with this for the rest of my life. I am dedicated to serving anyone who has an interest in relating to their soul and spirit through Kundalini Yoga.
Guru Jyoti Kaur (Betsy Sayer), Teacher
One of my life’s greatest lucky strikes was being guided to the Kundalini path in 2014 when seeking an alternative action plan for my health. After experiencing years of debilitating symptoms from an autoimmune disorder and toxic allopathic treatments, I was looking to more natural modalities of healing. Being guided by a longtime friend, Sat Purkh Kaur Khalsa, I was brought to the path of Kundalini Yoga As Taught by Yogi Bhajan. My commitment to sadhana had been the most profound and effective approach in my recovery. Not only has Kundalini provided miraculous healing for me physically, but it has been profoundly effective in dealing with past traumas by renewing and balancing my immune and nervous systems. After over four years of a committed sadhana, I spent the month of August 2018 in the Kundalini Teacher Training Immersion Program at the Ashram of Yogi Bhajan in Española New Mexico. My teaching is born from a deep desire to offer this technology and teachings to those who remain in a state of physical or emotional pain, confined by their belief that yoga is not for them.
Guru Surya Kaur Khalsa, Teacher
I discovered Kundalini Yoga in Minneapolis when I stumbled upon a class in 2002. It helped me to release and move on from a relationship that had recently ended. A few weeks later I met my husband. I don't think it was a coincidence! I love the way I feel when I practice Kundalini Yoga - lighter, happier, more graceful and grateful. My name means "The pure princess of the sun who brings one from darkness to light". I completed Level 1 Teacher Training right here in Portland in 2009 and in 2019 I completed all 5 Level 2 modules. Now working on joining the Teacher Trainer Academy. I love being outside and am thrilled to offer Breathwalk classes in some of Portland's parks.

Kundalini Yoga has changed my life, and I love sharing the light and strength it has brought me with others. I began my journey on this path as a teacher. After my first KY class, my teacher, Hari Dass Singh (aka Dr. Khalsa), announced that there were a few spots left in Teacher Training starting the following month. I felt that that message was directed at me. I have taught Kundalini Yoga in Portland since completing Teacher Training in 2004. I am married to a super yogi, who helps me keep up and maintain a powerful daily spiritual practice. I am continually renewed and inspired by the Portland community. Over the years, I have found the most effective way to raise the Kundalini is to practice, eat, celebrate, and pray with a spiritual community.
Jai Satya Kaur (Vani / Pilar Kimbrell), Teacher
I am a certified Kundalini yoga teacher through KRI. I am also certified in hatha through Integral Yoga and in pre natal yoga through the Whole Birth Program. Kundalini yoga, in particular, has helped my heart heal. It is my joy to share this powerful technology with others, and I have been doing so since 2004. I also love playing my symphonic Paiste gong and seeing its healing results in my students. I wish to to acknowledge my indebtedness to all of my yoga teachers, past and present, and future. Wahe Guru!

Ram Hari Kaur (Michelle Wuerthner), Teacher
When I took my first Kundalini Yoga class in 2005 I had been practicing yoga for over 15 years. I was hooked; I knew this was my yoga. I completed teacher training in 2009 and spent 4 years teaching in San Francisco. Kundalini Yoga has been a catalyst in helping me create a life far beyond my wildest dreams and allows me to dedicate my life to the service and well being of others. My intention in every yoga class is to provide a pathway for each person to have a deeper experience of themselves. “When using the the ancient wisdom of yoga, sound, mantra, dynamic movement and breath, having an elevated feeling of existence, relaxation, release and rejuvenation come with ease”.
Saha Devi Johns, Teacher
I found grief, anxiety, depression, disappointment, fear, and negativity were my daily unwanted companions. I saw therapists, doctors, chiropractors, acupuncture, but still felt unable to move forward. I had been a yogi most my life, but now I felt in crisis. Then came Kundalini Yoga to the rescue! It saved my life! Synchronicity (with some fairy dust!) lead to my husband and I going to Rishikish, India in 2012 to become certified KRI teachers.
Now I am forever grateful to be teaching this amazing technology. Kundalini Yoga clears out the cobwebs and shines up the mirror in our inner world so that we may see ourselves more clearly. We are amazing and worth whatever it takes to have a fabulous life experience! I am certified in KRI Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, Khalsa Way Kundalini pre-natal yoga and Kundalini Mommy and Me Yoga. May you be blessed on your yoga journey.

Sirgun Kaur (Signa Cheney), Teacher
I fell in love with yoga in 1988 while living in Bali, where I experienced gong as healing vibration and had my first exposure to the classical teachings of yoga. My path began with 8 years of devoted Hatha Iyengar studies under my beloved teacher Gayna Uransky. In the late 90s I dove into the popular western movement of Vinyasa and Power Yoga styles, until 2008 when I realized I wanted more than just a strong asana practice. I began exploring and practicing pranayama, sound and mantra. In 2012 I found Kundalini Yoga, and knew this was a style of yoga that would give me the full practice I seeked. Through this practice I have found a deep flow of peace, strength and grace that fills me up and recharges me from the inside out. I am the owner of Mandala Yoga Studio in the Mt Tabor Park neighborhood of Portland, OR. I enjoy serving community and helping people to experience yoga as a deeply rewarding and personal path. My classes offer a devotion and passion for yoga, a love of music and sound healing, as well as a depth of understanding and connection to various lineages and over 25 years of personal practice and devotion to the path of yoga. I am very thankful for yoga and feel that yoga is medicine for the imbalances and sufferings of our world, for all.
