Seva (selfless service) Opportunities
It takes a village to run this village! Have a skill to share? Open to opening up your home for a community gathering? Savvy with blogs & websites? If you are ever interested in lending a hand please let us know or come to a board meeting.
Current Needs
1) Potluck hosts. Offer your home or space or nearby park {weather permitting} so we can gather on the 4th weekend of the month. It could be a brunch, dinner, lunch, breakfast... whatever works for you! Allow 3 hours.
2) Blog/Newsletter writer. When blog posts get written they then get emailed out via MailChimp. We are looking for someone who would feel comfortable working with Weebly (web-based website host) and MailChimp. This person should also be connected to the community and have a keen editing eye. Contact Guru Surya if interested.
3) Website updater. Comfortable with making changes and keeping the website current and consistent. Contact Guru Surya if interested.

Serving on the Panj
Serving on the Panj is a great opportunity to drop your ego! It's not a matter of if you will serve in this capacity, it's when. Know that your efforts are needed and appreciated by all - even those that don't know you or know what you do!
Interesting in serving on the board of directors (the Panj)? We are always looking for "established community members" to step up. What is an "established community member"? It's a little ambiguous, but someone who has been living here and active in the community for at least 6 months to a year. Active in the community means things like showing up to monthly events or teaching kundalini yoga or are taking the teacher training. Basically, you've made some connections here and are eager and wiling to commit to serving the community in this capacity. If you have any questions please ask!
Nest Steps...
1) Read over the bylaws. This document was created by the original Panj and has been updated through the years as we have evolved. Panj members uphold the bylaws.
2) Read this article about kypdx featured on IKYTA.
3) If you feel you can uphold the bylaws an commit to a term of 2 - 2.5 years of service, please submit your nomination.
4) The community will vote. There can be an election at any time.
